IN THE NEW TALENT SHOW PODCAST, CREATED BY FINANCIAL TIMES AND BOCCONI, ALEKSANDRA TORBICA TALKS ABOUT GLOBAL CHALLENGES FOR THE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM AND CAREER TIPS FOR THE HEALTH INDUSTRY

Aleksandra Torbica, professor of Regulation & Economics Of Healthcare Industry at Bocconi and Director of CERGAS, Center for Research on Health and Social Care Management, is the next guest on the Talent Show podcast, a new series devised by Financial Times and Bocconi for the younger generation with analysis on trends and career advice in the most coveted sectors. Torbica talks about today's global challenges for the healthcare system, how technological innovations can improve healthcare, and some advice, especially the skills needed, for those who want to work in the health industry.
The Talent Show podcast series features Bocconi professors and alumni analyzing the most important trends of the moment in various sectors - ranging from finance to entertainment, from the space economy to AI - to help young people understand the changes and challenges to be met and giving practical career advice.
"The pandemic has highlighted the importance of data for the healthcare system. Knowing how to interpret and analyze data is definitely a vital skill today for those who want to work in the health industry," Torbica explains. "But technological skills are not enough - you need to understand the 360-degree context of the healthcare world. Knowledge of economics, management and social sciences are equally important to make the system function well."
