Public Value: the call to reward good practice in Public Administration is underway

THE INITIATIVE OF SDA BOCCONI AND THE GEDI EDITORIAL GROUP HAS THE OBJECTIVE OF IDENTIFYING AND SHARING INNOVATIVE PROJECTS TO START THE RELAUNCH OF THE PUBLIC SECTOR. AT THE CENTER, INNOVATION OF ORGANIZATION AND MANAGERS

Starting back up after the pandemic? Public Administration can play a central role and become the lever for relaunching the entire national system. SDA Bocconi School of Management is convinced of this and today launches the Call to action "Public value: public administration that works" conceived in partnership with the GEDI Publishing Group with the patronage of the Ministry of Public Administration, ANCI and UPI.

The initiative is part of SDABocconi4GOV, a project through which SDA Bocconi provides 50 years of experience in the public sector to promote the change in processes required by the PNRR towards a more modern and competent PA. Public Value intends to encourage innovation and modernization in the public sector, enhancing the best practices that allow citizens and businesses to have more efficient, inclusive and up-to-date services available.

"SDA Bocconi School of Management further strengthens its commitment to serving the country by focusing on training and developing the skills of the executive class and promoting, at the same time, the processes of modernization of the PA", says Giovanni Valotti, full professor in the Department of Social and Political Sciences at Bocconi University and member of the Award Committee that will evaluate the projects that best meet the distinctive criteria indicated in the Call for participation. "The objective of the Call to action is to stimulate and promote the sharing of good practices in accordance with the inspiring principles of the PNRR for the reform of the public sector. The focus that generates change, from SDA Bocconi's point of view, is the enhancement of human capital through organizational and managerial innovation ".

An orientation that is completely in line with the "ABCs of sharing" of the PNRR which indicates three guidelines for the reform of the PA: access (recruitment), good administration (simplifications and digitization) and skills (profiles, careers and training).
There are 10 categories foreseen by the call for applications to which administrations can apply by presenting their projects: sustainability, digitization, diversity and inclusion, work and economic / entrepreneurial development, new fragilities, sport, culture and tourism, innovation and creativity, simplifications, innovations management. The level of innovation of the project, the results obtained and the reproducibility in other contexts will be taken into consideration in the evaluation criteria.

Public administrations wishing to participate in the initiative can apply by 28 February 2022 by filling out the application form at the following link and attaching the required documentation. The selected administrations will participate in a public event that will take place by June 2022.
