Your Safety Matters: Bocconi's Commitment

SEROLOGICAL TESTS, MASKS, DEVICES FOR DISTANCING AND A COMMUNICATION CAMPAIGN TO SPREAD THE CULTURE OF RESPONSIBILITY: ALL THE ACTIONS IMPLEMENTED BY THE UNIVERSITY TO PROTECT THE HEALTH OF THE COMMUNITY

45,000 surgical masks distributed free of charge; six kilometers of signs; 2,000 liters of disinfectant gel; epidemic initiative (which includes serological tests and, in case of positivity, two swabs) for professors and staff (500 people have already joined) and for students; an ambulance with two first aid workers present on campus; daily sanitation of spaces and equipment; individual and high-flow scanners (as in airports) for temperature measurement located in all buildings; seven security personnel to ensure accessibility and compliance with external flows; 34 safety staff to enforce social distancing; the Your Safety Matters communication campaign to sensitize the whole community to compliance with the rules and responsible behavior; a dedicated emergency telephone number (02/58362121) operating 24 hours a day; a specific email (hse @ unibocconi) to which all reports and requests for information should be addressed and a Crisis Team that has been operating since last January with the aim of defining strategies and actions to cope with the evolution of the pandemic.

This is what Bocconi, with an investment of over 3 million euros, has put in place since the beginning of the 20/21 academic year to respond to the health emergency.

"Bocconi's timely and constant commitment functions both in terms of the implementation of safety devices and, even more important, in terms of spreading a culture of personal and collective responsibility throughout our community", explains Riccardo Taranto, Managing Director of the University. "I still remind everyone: Be responsible, be sustainable, be safe".

The University has also implemented a protocol to manage phase 3 - the return to campus - which lays out procedures for the management of any cases of Covid-19 ascertained within its residences, during educational activities and in general within the campus.
The procedure has been prepared starting from the regulatory documents in force and is constantly updated based on the evolution of government provisions. It describes both the actions to take for symptomatic and/or positive people, and the consequent actions by the University itself and in collaboration with the Health Protection Agency for ascertained cases, ranging from quarantine to isolation, tracing, and passive or active surveillance.

"The collaboration of the whole community is essential and to protect everyone, we also recommend downloading and using the Immuni app," concludes Taranto.
