ILARIA CAPUA (BOCCONI IAC MEMBER) AND PAOLA PROFETA (BOCCONI PROFESSOR) ARE AMONG THE 13 WOMEN ON THE TASK FORCE COMMISSIONED BY THE MINISTRY FOR FAMILY AND EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES

Women for the Recovery: this is the name of the task force commissioned by the Ministry for Family and Equal Opportunities. The working group is made up of 13 women, including Paola Profeta, Associate Professor of Public Finance at Bocconi, and virologist Ilaria Capua, who is a member of the International Advisory Council at the University.

Led by Fabiola Gianotti, Director-General at CERN in Geneva, the task force will: prepare analyses and investigations of data and scientific evidence relating to the Covid-19 epidemic’s impact on various sectors; formulate proposals and ideas to increase the percentage of women in all professional environments and break down barriers to career advancement, in particular in the fastest growing fields (STEM, IT, cloud computing, data and artificial intelligence); and present a position paper defining the policies and priority objectives in operational terms to face the challenges in each of the sectors concerned and their interconnections, including potential interconnections, and to strengthen the presence and roles of women in all the sectors examined, with a focus on the social, cultural and economic revitalization of Italy after the epidemiological emergency from Covid-19.
