Open Badges for New Faculty

INCOMING FACULTY AND PHDS INTERESTED IN TEACHING CAN OBTAIN INTERNATIONAL CERTIFICATION OF THEIR TEACHING SKILLS THANKS TO THE BOCCONI BEAT PROGRAM

News on the Bocconi teaching front: Open Badges for faculty are now available, an internationally recognized certification based on faculty's teaching and learning skills. The project is coordinated by BUILT (Bocconi University Innovations in Learning and Teaching), in cooperation with the Dean of the Faculty, Francesco Billari, and represents a first for the University: until now, Open Badges were available for some student extracurricular initiatives, but not for teaching.

The Open Badge certification issued by Bocconi is exclusively for teaching and learning initiatives that are part of the BEAT project (Bocconi Excellence in Advanced Teaching) for incoming faculty and PhD students interested in teaching. To obtain it, these two categories of participants must attend a six-module program over six months (for incoming faculty) or three modules in three months (for PhDs).

"The continuous training of our Faculty represents a fundamental component of our University's path towards excellence also in terms of teaching," explains Leonardo Caporarello, Director of BUILT and Delegate Rector for e-Learning. "We believe it is worthwhile to share the results of this important initiative with the international academic community, once again using the opportunities offered by technology."

The BEAT program, in turn, is part of a broader portfolio of training programs dedicated to Bocconi faculty and created by BUILT Bocconi. All Initiatives.
