Scholarships, Climate Research and a Named Classroom in Memory of Her Husband and Mother

THAT IS HOW CLAUDIA SEGRE, PRESIDENT OF THE GLOBAL THINKING FOUNDATION, HAS DECIDED TO SUPPORT BOCCONI UNIVERSITY

Support for the University, donated in memory of her husband Angelo Chiodi, a Bocconi alumnus, and of her mother Celestina Billotti Segre, one of the first women in Italy to actively work on the stock exchange. This is the accord signed by Bocconi and Claudia Segre, founder and president of Global Thinking Foundation (in the photo with, from left, Managing Director Riccardo Taranto, Rector Gianmario Verona and Prof. Valentina Bosetti).

A donor to the University since 2017, Claudia Segre this year has chosen to support all aspects of life at Bocconi, both through a personal contribution and through her Foundation. The donation will support four Celestina Billotti Segre Scholars (two partial exemptions for MSc students, a Bocconi Merit Award scholarship, and a scholarship through the Una Scelta Possibile project). The agreement also includes funding for the vein of research related to climate change coordinated by Valentina Bosetti at the Green Bocconi Research Center, and the naming of a study room in the Library in memory of her husband.

"A passion for the world of international finance and the teachings of my mother have allowed me, in more than 30 years of career, to closely examine the demographic and socio-economic global dynamics on which to build the Global Thinking Foundation project", explains Claudia Segre. "Angelo and I shared this passion and recognized the importance of establishing a path towards the world of finance for deserving but less well-off children, based on financial education and with an eye to gender equality".
