Bocconi International Fair: All the Opportunities in the World in the Roentgen Building

ON FEBRUARY 7, THIS EVENT PRESENTS BOCCONI STUDENTS WITH THE OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDY AND WORK ABROAD OFFERED BY THE UNIVERSITY. INFORMATION DESKS, WORKSHOPS, PRESENTATIONS AND MANY STUDENTS AND ADVISORS READY TO OFFER THEIR ADVICE AND EXPERIENCES

"Getting out of your comfort zone to immerse yourself in a new culture and grow personally and professionally." In the words of students, these are the main reasons to go on a study or work adventure outside Italy. In 2017, 4,080 Bocconi students left for a few months abroad. To support those who are still planning to have an international experience, the Bocconi International Fair (BIF), the annual fair to present students with all the opportunities for study and work abroad offered by the University, will be held in the Roentgen building on February 7.

From 10:30am to 6:45pm, the program includes a series of overviews, meetings and round tables on the Exchange program, international careers and a new Study Tour program. Launched last summer, it offers one week focused on a specific topic at one of the available destinations, which have increased from 3 last year to 7 this year: Peru, Colombia, Uganda, Morocco, South Africa, Israel and Vietnam. “As soon as I heard about this program last year during the BIF I seized the opportunity and left for Israel where I learned about the ecosystem of local startups," says Fabrizio Colloca, a Finance student. "I found it so interesting because it was a topic I chose for a classroom project. We attended practical workshops and we saw several Israeli businesses up close".

At the same time as the presentations, from 11:30am to 3pm, students will be able to meet other students who have already participated in the Exchange program at the various partner universities around the world. Interested students will be able to discuss any questions or concerns they have in the foyer of the Aula Magna Roentgen, in the area dedicated to study abroad. There will also be a space dedicated to work, where anyone who would like to find out about international internship opportunities can get information with the support of labor market experts divided by geographical areas and sectors (in particular chambers of commerce, embassies and NGOs). The experience of internships abroad is a fundamental element in each student’s education, says Andrea Gambirasio, in his second year of Economics and Management of Innovation and Technology. He completed two internships, both found through the University: "One in Luxembourg in 2017 for Deloitte in the field of consulting, with a focus on the digital transformation of banks, the other last year in Dublin at Google, where I worked on the support of strategic customers.”

No need to register for the event, but students must bring their university ID card.
