A Solo Evening at Bocconi with Christian De Luca

WINNER OF THE INTERNATIONAL EARLY PIANO COMPETITION AT BERKELEY, THE YOUNG ITALIAN PIANIST WILL BE THE GUEST PERFORMER FOR A CONCERT ORGANIZED BY ISU BOCCONI ON THURSDAY 18 OCTOBER AT 9PM IN THE AULA MAGNA

Christian De Luca’s piano music will fill the halls on Thursday 18 October at 9pm in the Aula Magna at Via Gobbi 5, Bocconi. He will perform solo pieces as part of the concerts organized by ISU Bocconi in collaboration with Furcht Pianoforti.

Domenico Scarlatti                Keyboard Sonata K27 in B minor: Allegro
                                               Keyboard Sonata K208 in A major: Adagio
                                               Keyboard Sonata K24 in A major: Presto
 
Muzio Clementi                     Sonata Op. 40 no. 2 in B minor
                                               – Molto adagio e sostenuto – Allegro
                                               – Largo, mesto e patetico – Allegro – Tempo I – Presto
 
Franz Liszt                             Sposalizio
 
Johann Sebastian Bach-Ferruccio Busoni     Chaconne in D minor
 
Reviewed by La Provincia di Como for “passionately performing the intimidating variations of Liszt’s Totentanz, with perfect focus,” Christian De Luca was the overall “prize and audience” winner of the 2014 International Competition for Piano and Orchestra, Città di Cantù, in the “Romantic Concerti” category.
During his studies in Italy, his has placed first in many other piano competitions, both at the national and international levels. In those years, he also developed a strong interest in historical performances, as he had the opportunity to study with the Italian fortepianist Giuseppina De Berardinis, a pupil of Emilia Fadini. In 2018, he was the winner of the First International Early Piano Competition in Berkeley, CA.
