What Will Become of Art Galleries?

THEIR ROLE IN THE MARKET WILL BE DISCUSSED TOMORROW AT A MEETING WITH MARC SPIEGLER, THE GENERAL DIRECTOR OF ART BASEL, AND OTHER INDUSTRY REPRESENTATIVES

In an art system that increasingly must deal with the market, what ongoing role will art galleries have in the role conceived by figures like Leo Castelli in the seventies? This is the question that will be answered at  meeting tomorrow, 10 April, organized by Bocconi ‘s ASK Research Center at 6:00pm in Room B in Via Sarfatti 25.

The event, which will be moderated by Marc Spiegler, general director of the fairs Art Basel, Basel Hong Kong and Miami Basel,  will feature Jennifer Chert (Chertlüdde Gallery Berlin), Andrew Kreps (Andrew Kreps Gallery New York), Anthony Reynolds (Anthony Reynolds Gallery London) and Chiara Rusconi (A palazzo Gallery Brescia).

"This meeting comes just on the eve of MIART", explains the vice-president of ASK Stefano Baia Curioni Center "It is an opportunity to reflect on the global contemporary art system together with some of the most important and innovative galleries in the sector".
