Japanese Artists in Concert

AKI KURODA AND YUKO MIYAGAWA WILL PLAY BACH AND STRAVINSKIJ, BACH/BRAHMS AND PART ON THE PIANO AND CELLO ON THURSDAY 15 MARCH AT 9PM IN THE AULA MAGNA AT VIA GOBBI 5

Winners of numerous international competitions,  pianist Aki Kuroda and cellist Yuko Miyagawa will play on Thursday 15 March, at 9pm, in the main hall of Via Gobbi 5.

The program includes Johann Sebastian Bach’s sonata n. 1 for viola da gamba in G major BWV 1027, the Suite Italienne by Igor Stravinsky,  Johannes Brahms’ transcription of Bach’s Chaconne in D minor, BWV 1004 and la Fratres by Arvo Part.

Aki Kuroda was born in Osaka where she graduated from the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music in 1992. She has won numerous national and international competitions and has performed important concerts all over the world. She is appreciated both as a classical music pianist and as an interpreter of different genres, popular, tango, world music, avant-garde.

Yuko Miyagawa was born in a famous family of musicians in Tokyo. He attended many of the most prestigious music schools in the world and won, among others, the first prize at the 6th international chamber music competition in Tokyo.

The concert is organized by ISU Bocconi Student Division, in collaboration with Furcht Pianoforti. Free admission while seats last
