In the Name of Luigi Guatri, Bocconi Rewards Merit

CARMEN MANNA, AN INTERNATIONAL MANAGEMENT STUDENT, IS THE FIRST BENEFICIARY OF THE MERIT AWARD WORTH 12,700 EUROS PER YEAR, WHICH FROM NOW ON WILL BE ASSIGNED TO A STUDENT IN THE FIRST YEAR OF A MASTER OF SCIENCE PROGRAM

On the occasion of the 90th birthday of Luigi Guatri, Vice-President of the University and former Rector and CEO, Bocconi established, starting from the academic year 2017/18, the "Merit Award Luigi and Lina Guatri" for particularly deserving students, in the form of a university fee exemption.

The Award is reserved for a student enrolled in the first year of a Bocconi MSc, who comes from a Bocconi Bachelor degree, attended since the first year. The value of the award, equal to that of the exemption, is 12,700 euro. The exemption is confirmed for the second year, provided that the student maintains the merit requirements.

For the 2017/18 academic year, the Merit Award was awarded to Carmen Manna, a student in the first year of her MSc in International Management, who graduated in July 2017 to the Bachelor in Economia Aziendale e Management (in Italian) with the vote of 110/110 cum laude. His thesis was on disruptive innovation innovation in the Italian wireless industry.

“Luigi Guatri is a fundamental figure in the history of Bocconi and a master for all those who have had the privilege of attending his lectures and working with him", said University President Mario Monti, "and it is therefore a real pleasure for the University to pay homage to him by rewarding a worthy student every year”.

The call for the second edition of the award will be soon available on the University's website.
