Research and Teaching, Bocconi in the European Top 5 for Social Sciences and Management

IN THE WORLD UNIVERSITY RANKINGS BY FACULTY, BOCCONI GAINS FIVE POSITIONS. THE UNIVERSITY ALSO CONFIRMS ITSELF IN THE EUROPEAN TOP 10 IN THE INDIVIDUAL RANKINGS FOR THE SUBJECTS OF BUSINESS, ECONOMICS AND FINANCE

Confirmations for the value of research and teaching and the high quality of Bocconi graduates in the QS World University Rankings 2017, published today, in which Bocconi placed in top positions in Europe, behind only British universities.

In the Ranking by Faculty, which ranks universities in five macro areas of study, Bocconi rises five positions in the ranking for Social Sciences and Management, placing 17th worldwide and 5th in Europe. In the Rankings by Subject, Bocconi placed 11th worldwide and 6th in Europe for Business and Management studies, 16th worldwide and 4th in Europe for Economics and Econometrics and 33rd worldwide and 7th in Europe for Accounting and Finance.

For the ranking put together by QS, the international network dedicated to education and the professions, 4,438 universities were assessed, 1,117 of which were then included in the ranking. The ranking was created by evaluating four parameters: academic reputation based on a survey of academics, reputation among employers (based on recruiter opinions), research citations per paper and the H-Index, which measures the prolificacy and impact of research publications.

"The new QS ranking," says Stefano Caselli, Dean for International Affairs at Bocconi, "represents a very prestigious result since it underlines decisively the international dimension of our university, placing it among the top positions in Europe and worldwide, and highlights the excellence of the human capital that we find both in the placement of our graduates and in the results of our academic research."
