Bocconi Says #HappyBirthdayEurope with 12 videos

THE SERIES WILL LEAD UP TO THE 60TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE TREATY OF ROME ADDRESSING THE HOT ISSUES OF EUROPE TODAY

Europe turns 60, #HappyBirthdayEurope. March 25th will be the 60th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Rome by Belgium, France, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and West Germany. The European Economic Community, effective from January 1st 1958 and later transformed into the European Union, was born.
 
Bocconi University has decided to celebrate the anniversary with a series of videos, #HappyBirthdayEurope, featuring 12 professors of the University addressing hot issues of Europe today. The currency, the reasons of the actual and potential exits, environmental policy and the labor market will be among the topics.
 
The first video, to air on Monday, February 27th, an historic review of the European development, will feature Carlo Secchi, a Professor of European Economic Policy and former Member of the European Parliament. The last one, by the economist Guido Tabellini, will be a forward looking analysis of the possible evolutions and will be online on March 24th, the day before Europe’s birthday.
 
The other contributing professors, for their respective areas of academic expertise, are Carlo Altomonte, Andrea Beltratti, Valentina Bosetti, Franco Bruni, Maurizio Del Conte, Paola Gaeta, Francesco Giavazzi, Donato Masciandaro, Piero Stanig, and Arianna Vedaschi.
