Welcome to Milan

BOCCONI THIS SEMESTER IS HOSTING 807 STUDENTS COMING FROM THE UNIVERSITY'S 280 PARTNER SCHOOLS AROUND THE WORLD

As the spring semester starts, Bocconi welcomes 807 exchange students from more than 280 partner schools around the world, joining the 1000 students of first semester 2023/24. In the coming months, they will experience a unique opportunity through a new academic journey at Bocconi and living in a city as new to them as Milan.

“Entering campus during the exam weeks has shown me how much Bocconi students value their studies. Campus was full before the semester began with groups collaborating and studying. It made me excited to begin learning once again,” says Greta Cole, University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management, USA.

“Bocconi’s reputation for being a top educator especially in the fields of management, finance, and legal studies was something that made me look deeper into Bocconi’s stats,” Greta Cole continues.

“Bocconi has an outstanding reputation in finance and will allow me to attend lectures held by the best professors in their field,” agrees Tobias Nowak, incoming from the Frankfurt School in Germany. In addition, “Milan offers numerous amenities. Although Milan is a large city with a wide variety of cultural and leisure facilities, every spot in the city is well-reachable via public transport. On top of that, Milan is an international city, so you get by very well with English. Not to mention the countless good restaurants and cafés.”

A rich calendar of welcome activities is planned close to the start of the semester, aimed at helping students become familiar with Bocconi, the city and the academic environment.

“The Welcome Days helped a lot to get familiar with the city, the university facilities, and the Italian culture,” says Tobias Nowak. “I was encouraged to see how many welcome activities Bocconi offered,” highlights Greta Cole.

The exchange experience is not only a key part of students' curriculum, but also provides a valuable opportunity to gain soft skills, learn about new cultures, and adapt to a different academic system.
