Financial Times: Bocconi in the world top 10 for management programs

THE MASTER IN INTERNATIONAL MANAGEMENT CLIMBS 12 POSITIONS TO 8TH PLACE IN THE FT'S 2023 RANKING OF THE WORLD'S BEST PROGRAMS. BOCCONI FIRST IN THE WORLD FOR SUSTAINABILITY GOALS OF ITS CAMPUS

Bocconi's Master of science in International Management gains 12 positions and climbs to 8th place in the world in the 2023 Masters in Management ranking, published today by the Financial Times. An entry in the world's top 10 achieved thanks to its international scope, with 41% of students and 45% of professors being non-Italian, and a wide range of experiences in universities and countries outside of Italy thanks to the possibility of attending an exchange semester at one of Bocconi's 280 partner schools, enrolling in a double degree in Europe, Asia, the US, South America and Australia, or doing an internship around the world.
 
The two-year program, in English, as its Director, Massimo Magni, summarises, “prepares future managers and entrepreneurs by providing a comprehensive knowledge of companies, global markets and rapidly changing contexts, focusing on geopolitical, technological and economic challenges, and paying particular attention to social responsibility and sustainability.”
 
Of particular importance in this ranking are the criteria relating to entry into the job market (for Bocconi’s program the average waiting time between graduation and the start of the first job is less than 1 month), career progression and salary.
 
“The international scope of our Master of Science is also seen in the destination of our graduates: one year after graduation, 60 per cent of them work abroad,” Magni emphasises.
 
In this ranking, Bocconi also holds a high achievement by being first in the world for the Carbon Footprint rank, which is based on the net zero target year for carbon emissions set by schools and the publication of a carbon emissions audit report. Among the initiatives and results achieved, in particular, thanks to the self-production of energy from renewable photovoltaic and geothermal sources, Bocconi has exceeded the threshold of 1.2 MW of installed power, approaching the threshold of carbon neutrality for direct emissions (Scope 1) and, thanks to the procurement since 2017 of 100% of the electricity purchased from third parties from renewable sources with a guarantee of origin, has zeroed indirect emissions (Scope 2). The goal is to achieve carbon neutrality by 2025 and then focus on the Net Zero target, including all other major indirect emissions.
 
In June, Bocconi's Master of science in Finance reached 13th place in FT's ranking of the world's best programs while SDA Bocconi school of management placed 4th in the 2022 ranking of the best European business schools, based on the various rankings that FT publishes throughout the year.
