Training That Puts Life Back into Perspective

ON SVOLTE, THE STORY OF UMBERTO BARBIERI, GRADUATE OF THE EXECUTIVE MBA AT SDA BOCCONI, WHO LEFT HIGH END CONSULTANCY IN MILAN FOR A REALITY ON A MORE HUMAN SCALE, BUT TOOK ADVANTAGE OF TRAINING THAT WOULD ALLOW HIM TO UPDATE AND BE VERSATILE

The eighth episode of Svolta tells the story of Umberto Barbieri: a degree in business management, experiences abroad, then consulting in Ernst & Young, five years lived in a hurry. "Consulting has been a great school, because it teaches you to always perform under pressure and, at the same time, allows you to see many different sectors," explains the alumnus, now a project manager.

But, after years of intense work in the big city, the idea of leaving consultancy and moving back to Verona began to mature.  And also to attend a Master program, to keep his skills up to date. This is how he embarks on the Executive MBA of SDA Bocconi, a demanding, "serious and rigorous path, which serves to equip students with solid tools and skills, without shortcuts", underlines Rossella Cappetta, professor of organization and staff and Associate Dean for open programs at SDA Bocconi. "But it is precisely the solidity of the tools learned that is the guarantee of versatility. I think that, in these uncertain times, having a serious educational plan is the best form of insurance you can buy."
