New Generations and Digitalization, This is the Way

ALESSANDRO BOGLIOLO, FORMER CEO OF TIFFANY CO, MEETS RECTOR GIANMARIO VERONA IN THE LATEST EPISODE OF EXECUTIVE CHATS

“The economy will call for a recovery with a return to pre-pandemic levels of globalization. A new globalization that will leverage on technology.” This is the outlook of Alessandro Bogliolo, former CEO of Tiffany & Co. and Bocconi alumnus, outlined in a conversation in the Executive Chats series with Rector Gianmario Verona.

Regards the fashion and luxury sectors, he sees three key points for growth. “It is important to not be reliant on wholesale but to have direct contact with customers. Second, you need to be relevant to the new generations of customers, who are now the most important engine of growth. And digitalization is crucial for connecting with them. Finally, you must aim for a leadership position in China.”

Looking at Italy, “I am optimistic there is a great opportunity for Italian brands to grow.”
