Athletics and Consultancy in Alberto Mondazzi's Future

HIS ACADEMICS ARE HIS PRIORITY COMMITMENT, WHILE ATHLETICS IS HIS PASSION, WITH AN OLYMPIC DREAM IN THE BACKGROUND

Alberto Mondazzi, enrolled in his third year of the Bachelor of Science in Business Economics and Management, chose his program with a sort of wait-and-see approach. “I decided to enroll in the CLEAM program because I wanted to cultivate my interest in economics, by attending the most 'traditional' program of those Bocconi University offers at the Undergraduate level, in order to discover my preferences among the different areas of business management," he explains.

Alberto Mondazzi, Italian under 23 5,000-meter champion and 10,000-meter runner-up, is part of the small number of students (seven) who were awarded the first edition of the Dean's Award. The Undergraduate School gives this award to students who manage to combine a brilliant university career with high-level extracurriculars. "I would have liked to play tennis," Alberto says of his first sporting passion, "but my tennis coach was the first to advise me to try running, after watching me in some athletic training tests." And no advice has been better.

Today Alberto has a full life: first his classes, "which are the priority," then studying and practice, "trying to plan the toughest training sessions when I'm not as busy with my studies." And for the future? "As for work, I see myself in business consultancy. Athletics is a great passion, but I don't know if I will be able to maintain this rhythm of training and competitions with increasing academic commitments. Of course, my ambition of participating in the Olympics will push me to try to reconcile the two activities as long as possible."
