Bocconi Art Gallery Is Back: Seventh Edition on 13 November

THE CAMPUS WILL BE OPEN FOR THE INAUGURATION FROM 4:30 TO 8:30PM. AN AFTERNOON WITH FREE GUIDED TOURS, TALKS WITH ARTISTS AND REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ART WORLD AND THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE #BAGMI CONTEST WINNERS. MORE THAN 100 WORKS OF ART WILL BE EXHIBITED, INCLUDING A SOLO EXHIBITION BY MARCO CASENTINI

Bocconi Art Gallery (BAG) has reached its seventh edition. More than 100 works of art by around 50 Italian and international artists will be open to the public on Monday 13 November from 4:30 to 8:30pm. Held all over the Bocconi campus, visitors can attend the exhibit through guided tours with artists, gallery owners, art collectors and representatives of the contemporary art world. Tours are offered in collaboration with Mi Guidi and leave every 20 minutes between 5 and 8pm.

One of the features that will be replicated this year are talks with artists and professionals in the art world. Starting at 6pm, Elio Marchegiani will be on stage with Arturo Galansino, Director of the Palazzo Strozzi Foundation in Florence. At 6:45pm, Maria Mulas will talk with Regine Schumann and Roberto Pietrosanti will debate with the collector Giuseppe Iannaccone. Moderating the three talks will be art critic Alberto Fiz, RAI tv journalist Cristina Sanna Passino and Marilena Pirrelli, journalist of Italian daily Il Sole 24 Ore.

Bocconi Art Gallery is also the culmination of the second edition of the #BAGmi photography contest. University students, alumni and staff were asked to submit photos focusing on art and Milan. The top three photographs will be announced during BAG’s inauguration event.

The artwork

More than 100 works of art will be included this year, by around 50 Italian and international artists. Each edition, BAG updates much of the collection thanks to loans and donations from artists, gallery owners and collectors.

‘Drive In’ will be part of the 2017 edition, a solo exhibition by Italian artist Marco Casentini. The exhibition at Bocconi, curated by critic Federico Sardella, made a stop at the Museum of Art and History in Lancaster (California) and will later move to the Royal Palace of Caserta.

There will also be a focus on photography. Through a close collaboration with the MIA Photo Fair, an exhibit by Silvia Lelli and Roberto Masotti (Lelli e Masotti), will be at BAG 2017, along with a collaboration with the Maria Mulas Archive, with 44 portraits created by the photographer between the 1970s and 1990s.

In addition, a partnership with the Brera Academy will continue, welcoming a young artist from the institution at Bocconi. This year’s artist is Mattia Agnelli.
