An Agreement Signed Between Bocconi and the European Investment Bank

THE KNOWLEDGE SHARING ACCORD INVOLVES ACTION RESEARCH PROJECTS AND THE PARTICIPATION OF EIB STAFF AS GUEST SPEAKERS IN COURSES AND SEMINARS

The European Investment Bank (EIB) and Bocconi University launched a wide-ranging knowledge sharing collaboration today with the signing of a cooperation agreement.

The collaboration envisages the development of a Capstone Project, i.e. an action research project involving Bocconi students, as well as the participation of EIB staff as guest speakers in academic courses or seminars series at Bocconi. The parties will also jointly develop other projects, such as the provision of practical seminars on the EIB group at Bocconi, the participation of Bocconi faculty members in EIB’s seminars and conferences, and study tours.

The agreement is already operative in academic year 2016/17, as the Capstone Project will involve the Master in Public Administration’s students under the tutorship of Professor Veronica Vecchi. In addition, a series of four seminars will be organized at Bocconi, mainly addressed to students interested in relations between business and public administrations. A study tour to EIB’s Luxembourg headquarters for the students of EMMAP, an executive Master in public administrations management (in Italian), has also been planned.

The agreement was signed by Francisco de Paula Coelho, Dean of the European Investment Bank Institute (EIBI) and Fulceri Bruni Roccia, Head of the EIBI Knowledge Programme on behalf of EIB, and by Bruno Pavesi, Bocconi’s CEO, on behalf of the University. “Such an agreement with the main European player in long-term financing for investment projects is a valuable addition to the educational experience our students can enjoy at Bocconi”, Pavesi said.

“The EIB is the bank of Europeans”, de Paula Coelho said, “particularly of young people and future graduates. On behalf of the Bank, the EIB Institute is proud to sign this partnership agreement with the prestigious Bocconi University. This partnership is based on the sharing and transfer of knowledge, expertise and experience along the lines of the successful agreements we already have with selected universities such as SciencesPo, College of Europe, LSE or University of Luxembourg".
