A Journey into the Aesthetic Sensitivity of the Photographer Yoshie Nishikawa. At Bocconi University

THE SECOND DATE WITH ART PHOTOGRAPHY ORGANIZED BY MIA PHOTO FAIR IN COLLABORATION WITH BOCCONI ART GALLERY IS A VOYAGE INTO THE 30YEAR CAREER OF THE JAPANESE PHOTOGRAPHER. APPOINTMENT IN VIA SARFATTI 25

Sky, water, flowers, dolls, butterflies and portraits are the subjects of the new exhibition promoted and realized by Mia Photo Fair in collaboration with Bocconi Art Gallery (BAG), which will be open until February 22 at the restaurant foyer of via Sarfatti 25. The 28 shots, realized by the Japanese artist Yoshie Nishikawa, are taken from 7 different series, so that the viewer can experience the gradual artistic evolution of the author during her 30-year career. It is in fact not a coincidence that the exhibition is called Shogyou mujyo / Everything flows. There are color as well as black and white photos, that are together able to build a path conveying the personal idea of the concept of beauty developed by the photographer over the years. It is a sort of time travel within her artistic sensitivity.

Nishikawa was born in Sapporo in 1959. After graduating from the Art University Ootani she moved to San Francisco to specialize in Fine Art of Photography at the San Francisco Academy of Art College. In 1983 she started her career as a photographer, working in Tokyo, New York and London. In 1996 she decided to move to Milan, where she worked in advertising and fashion. Today she combines her professional activities with research photography, travelling between Milan, London, Paris and Tokyo.

The exhibition is open Monday to Friday from 9 am to 8 pm and on Saturday from 10 am to 1 pm.
