Luciano Balestrini's Squared Photo Geometries

THE INAUGURATION OF THE PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBIT WILL BE HELD ON MONDAY 20 JUNE AT 6PM IN THE SALA RISTORANTE AT VIA SARFATTI 25

"Five centuries ago, the Accademia del Cimento, whose motto was 'Try and try again,' was the first scientific association to use the Galilean experimental method in Europe. Luciano Balestrini, architect and photographer, seems to have adopted their motto when, five centuries later, he decided to scientifically experiment with a combination of digital shots taken with his inseparable Sony Xperia smartphone through a complex and arduous process of manual production to make 'art' and seek out personal compositional forms."
So says Italo Prario to introduce Balestrini's new exhibit, which will be hosted at Bocconi (Sala Ristorante at Via Sarfatti 25), from 20 June to 9 September.

The choice of photographed details, which bring together a wide variety of visual emotions, are the origin of everything in an artistic sense. They have been manually deconstructed and reconstructed to then be put together with similar forms, almost fractals, but always placed in a squared geometric form by artist.

"In spite of the constant geometric format, which could have influenced freedom of expression, Luciano Balestrini is able to allow forms of all types to emerge, including flexible and moving forms. They affect the perception of anyone observing his works of art and highlight that sophisticated ability to combine the use of digital technology and the artist's emotional process," continues Prario.

The artist's works of art are positioned halfway between photography and abstract art as he uses his photos to compose backgrounds with various colors and structures, and creates original and visually incisive compositions that make him an interpreter of  the avant-garde of digital photography.

The exhibit will be inaugurated on Monday 20 June at 6pm. It can be viewed Mondays through Saturdays from 9am to 12pm.
