Dino Betti van der Noot at Bocconi

THE COMPOSER, A MULTIPLEWINNER OF THE TOP JAZZ AWARD PRESENTED BY THE MAGAZINE MUSICA JAZZ, WILL PERFORM IN A CONCERT TODAY AT 9PM IN THE VIA GOBBI AULA MAGNA

An authentic Bocconian will be at Bocconi today for the usual musical Thursday evening event on campus, organized by the Student Affairs Division-ISU Bocconi, in collaboration with Furcht Pianoforti. Dino Betti van der Noot will take the stage in the Via Gobbi Aula Magna (starting at 9pm), to narrate his time at Bocconi and his experience as a composer, through words and music. During the evening, he will present an overview of tracks that have marked his career as a composer and bandleader. He will also present two unreleased pieces, which have been composed for the event.

He will be on stage with Gianpiero Lo Bello, Alberto Mandarini and Alberto Capra on trumpet and saxhorn, Luca Begonia and Stefano Calcagno on trombone, Sandro Cerino and Giulio Visibelli on reeds, Luca Gusella on vibraphone, Niccolò Cattaneo on keyboard, Vincenzo Zitello on Celtic harp, Gianluca Alberti on electric bass, and Stefano Bertoli and Tiziano Tononi on percussion.

Born in Rapallo in 1936, Dino Betti van der Noot has always worked both in advertising, as president of his agency B Communications – covering roles with considerable responsibility at an international level – and as a composer.

He has released twelve albums – eleven of which include only his compositions – and has won the “Top Jazz” award six times, presented by the critics at the magazine Musica Jazz. His last win was in late 2015, with the album Notes Are But Wind released by Stradivarius. He has also won the critical vote from Musica & Dischi twice, which also awarded one of his albums with best Italian record of the decade. The newspaper USA Today ranked one of his albums as third best and another as second best of the year.
Admission is free but seats are limited.
