SDA Bocconi Academic Partner of the Industrial Excellence Award

ALSO ITALIAN FIRMS CAN NOW TAKE PART IN THE AWARD THAT BENCHMARKS EUROPEAN COMPETITIVENESS IN THE INDUSTRIAL AND SERVICE SECTORS

SDA Bocconi School of Management has become the Italian academic partner of the Industrial Excellence Award. From 2016 Italian firms can thus take part in the award that, after more than 20 years, is still the reference point for benchmarking European competitiveness in the industrial and service sectors.

All European business units using industrial techniques for their products or services are encouraged to take part. This can include high-volume production or customized project business. The award aims to single out firms able to translate strategic choices into actual actions and financial outcomes.

Participating is free of any cost. Firms have only to fill the application form available in the IEA website. “Advantages are, on the contrary, plenty”, Alberto Grando, SDA Professor and Academic Director of the award for Italy, explains. “Participants receive detailed and tailor-made feedback they can use to ignite further improvements, while the Italian media partner, Economia & Management, will publish a case history of the national champion”.

The application package must be submitted before 30 April, 2016. The academic directors will, then select a shortlist of finalists and an international team will visit their plants. The national champion will be crowned at a SDA Bocconi conference and the firm will compete for the European award, to be given out at the annual Industrial Excellence conference hosted by WirtschaftsWoche.

SDA Bocconi joins, as academic partner, Cambridge Judge Business School (UK), HEC Paris and INSEAD (France), IESE (Spain), IMD (Switzerland), Koç University Graduate School of Business (Turkey), Rotterdam School of Management and Technische Universiteit Eindhoven (the Netherlands) and WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management (Germany).
