Elisa Sings for Muti

ELISA BALBO, WITH BACHELOR AND MASTER DEGREES FROM BOCCONI, IS TODAY A PROMISING SOPRANO WHO HAS ALREADY PERFORMED IN SOME OF THE MOST IMPORTANT THEATERS IN THE WORLD. BUT HER CAREER IS JUST BEGINNING

"You know you're succeeding when you get a call for a show and see the other names in the cast ...". From someone who just did a duet with Francesco Meli, one of the best Italian tenors, conducted by Riccardo Muti in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the birth of Luciano Pavarotti ... that means something.

Elisa Balbo, with a Bachelor in Economics and Management, and an international double degree in International Management (Bocconi University-Fudan University Shanghai), is an opera singer, a young soprano squarely on the launch pad. The  27 year-old from Liguria , became a singer almost by chance, even if it seems hard to believe ... "I arrived in Milan and Bocconi because I wanted to work in international finance,  a good way to travel and learn about different cultures. I've always been a nerd, never had problems in my studies, but was looking for something I'm passionate about even in my free time, "she says. So, she dusted off her love for singing, passed an audition at the Milan Conservatory before she was 20, and step by step has taken wing: "I must say that the career of a classical singer doesn't start early is like a violinist or a pianist, "she says," because the voice needs to be stable, and voices don't stop evolving until a certain age. " After returning from Shanghai, Elisa realized that singing was now her true passion and has made the choice: "If you want to become a professional you have to dedicate yourself 100%, between lessons, studying music and scores, and figure out how to approach the characters that you will need to play on stage."

Selected by the Luciano Pavarotti Foundation, on June 2, 2013 she sang live on  RAI 5 and Radio 3 from the Auditorium of Turin in the Concert for Republic Daywith the RAI National Symphony Orchestra, and she has also performed in New York, at La Fenice in Venice, and at the Arena in Verona with Opera on Ice 2013. Since mid-October also is a regular guest on RAI Uno TV show Sabato In, led by Tiberio Timperi.

"The career of an opera singer is potentially very long," explains Elisa, "although the true affirmation, the artistic maturity, typically comes around at age 35-40. And the competition is really tough. " The next important date for which she is preparing will be in March, at the Teatro di Messina: "I will interpret Mimi La Boheme, a character that I love so much ... But in general I love music just like, when I was studying, I loved math. In both of these disciplines the greatest satisfaction is to reach the solution by fully understanding. "
