Runtime Productions Enters the Entertainment Industry with a Plot Twist

, by Elisa Bazzani
The startup created by three young entrepreneurs is the first Italian production company specialized in branded content

Runtime Productions was born in March 2015 and entered Speed MI Up in June, but its bocconian origins date back to a few years ago. It was the beginning of the first year of the Bachelor in Economics and Management for Arts, Culture and Communication when Diego Tartaglia, Selene Latella and Vanessa Scodeggio met. They found out that they share alove for communication while participating in extracurricular activities at Bocconi TV, Radio Bocconi and Bocconi Live Performance Student Association.

Following their Master studies, again at Bocconi, the three co-founders of Runtime Productions had separate professional experiences: Diego as communications manager in various firms, Selene as marketing coordinator at Estée Lauder and Vanessa as sales development specialist at Nestlé. A couple of years later, the three young entrepreneurs, all 25, came back to Bocconi to bring forth a project that they had never really put aside: creating a multimedia television and film production company specialized in branded content.

"Branded content is any editorial content, such as TV series or short films, conveying the values of a specific brand. It is an entertainment product that does not come across as intrusive, nor boring for the audience, and it represents the future of advertising", Diego explains. "Young people aged from 15 to 35 are our target. We create content according to our customers' requirements but we also identify the most suitable channels and strategy. The internet is now our main market but in the future, we would also like to work with TV networks. Runtime production is the first Italian company specialized in branded content. It's an innovative, expanding phenomenon and the Italian market is our challenge!" he concludes.
