Among those selected for the eight edition of the G20 Youth forum is Giorgia Caruso, Bocconian, to represent Italy

Giorgia Caruso (2nd year Biemf) has been selected as Minister of Finance for Italy in occasion of the G20 Youth forum which will be held on 7 to 11 may in Garmisch Partenkirchen (Germany).

The G20 Youth forum has been running for eight years, involving youth (18 to 30 years old) from countries which belong to the G20. The students are chosen from the best universities (Harvard, Princeton, LSE, etc.) and are called upon to propose concrete reforms to present to the heads of states which participate at the G20 and other international organisations like the IMF, World Bank, OECD, European Commision, with an official document.

Each year a lead topic is chosen – this year it is ths condition of youth today and it will be discussed by the 5 commissions in which the selected students are divided (entrepreneurial climate for youth; family and career opportunities for young people; accessibility of education and human rights; food security and resources of the future; tax system and living conditions for youth). Giorgia will be in the commission dedicated to accessibility of education and human rights, in line with her studies.

"I have been selected together with nine other Italian students to represent our country, and in some way also Bocconi. To be selected I had to send my cv and a series of presentation letters. Elena Cantù (professor of the Department of Policy Analysis and Public Management) wrote a motivational letter for me. After some interviews over the telephone they accepted my application," explains Giorgia, excited and honored to have been chosen to represent Italy and Bocconi.
