The Road to a Digital Society

"Covid has given an extraordinary push to the digitalization of our society. All the world now thinks a digital society is possible and desirable," states Aldo Bisio, CEO of Vodafone Italia, in a conversation in the Executive Chats series with Rector Gianmario Verona.

Regards digitalization, he feels Italy needs "a simplification of rules for infrastructure, a push forward on 5G technologies and that the government addresses the question of digital skills."

Bisio then highlights the importance of the collaboration with the Vodafone Chair in Machine Learning & Data Science at Bocconi, assigned to Professor Riccardo Zecchina, and how "it has helped us rethink our AI and machine learning techniques."

To end, on leadership in this era of smart working, he underlines "the need to motivate and engage with people and to recognize the importance of teams, even in remote."
