#WomenMatter: Bocconi Celebrates International Women's Day

, by Andrea Celauro
A week of initiatives, from 1 to 8 March, with videos, articles, interviews (real and imaginary) describing how Bocconi contributes to promoting knowledge on gender studies

Gender wage differences, women's employment, the struggle for international rights and protection, the positive impact of gender diversity in the workplace and technology's positive impact on women's empowerment. From demographics to law, management and economics, every day Bocconi research contributes to knowledge on gender equality issues. The University is celebrating International Women's Day this year with research and a focus on data as the starting point. Through a series of video activities, contributors, articles and interviews, Bocconi is celebrating the week from 1 to 8 March by describing how much #WomenMatter, studies in hand.

In addition, thanks also to a collaboration with Freeda, Bocconi will promote the discussion both on its own channels and on those of the largest community in Italy focusing on the issues of gender diversity and inclusion. On the two platforms, Bocconi and Freeda, there will be videos that describe the research and international debate on the issues of gender equality, thanks in part to the activities of the recently established AXA Lab on Gender Equality. An imaginary interview will be published with the woman who helped build the Bocconi University we know today, Donna Javotte Bocconi, as well as a real interview with Bocconi's Dean for Diversity and Inclusion, Catherine De Vries.

"Celebrating like this, describing the efforts of academia to promote quality knowledge on gender studies," explains Catherine De Vries, "is the best way to create awareness of how knowledge and understanding are the prime movers of inclusion."
