President Mario Monti will partecipate on November 22/24 at the Presidential Summit of the international universities alliance U7+

Finding ways to spark intergenerational dialogue on global issues and ethical applications of AI. These will be some of the key topics of discussion at the second Presidential Summit of the international universities alliance U7+ which will take place November 22-24 and see the participation of Bocconi with its President, Mario Monti.

The Summit is the annual meeting of the U7+ Alliance, the first coalition of over 50 universities from around the world dedicated to defining concrete actions universities can take to collectively address global challenges in coordination with government leaders in G7 countries and beyond. Stefano Caselli, Dean for International Affairs at Bocconi, is member of the Steering Committee of the alliance and will also participate in the summit.

Northwestern University will host the summit in virtual mode in partnership with Columbia University, Georgetown University and the University of California, Berkeley. Topics on this year's summit agenda include the U7+ Alliance's engagement with the G7, ethical applications of artificial intelligence and paths to sparking intergenerational dialogue on global issues. The 2020 Summit agenda was influenced in part by the first U7+ Worldwide Student Forum, where university students from all around the world set forth their recommendations for how universities can best prepare them for active engagement in efforts to address pressing global challenges including climate change, inequality and injustice.

The UN Secretary-General's Envoy on Youth will speak in a public livestream discussion on the global role of universities. This part of the final plenary session will be broadcast here starting 5,30 pm on Tuesday 24: https://www.northwestern.edu/u7summit/live-stream.html

The U7+ Alliance is the first international coalition of universities aimed at structuring and advancing the role of universities as global actors across the multilateral agenda. Alliance members meet annually to establish a common agenda and identify key areas for coordinated action. Together, U7+ university presidents take stock of their universities' unique civic and social responsibilities and pledge concrete action on behalf of their institutions to address the world's most pressing challenges at local, regional and global levels. https://www.u7alliance.org/
