Milan and Pavia, Round Trip

SOFIA CURONE STUDIES AT BOCCONI AND THE PAVIA CONSERVATORY AND PLAYS THE SAX IN THE LITTLE SPARE TIME SHE HAS. AFTER UNIVERSITY, SHE SEES HERSELF IN THE NONPROFIT SECTOR, IN THE MUSICAL AND CULTURAL FIELDS

Milan-Pavia round trip, and sometimes even further. As well as Voghera, where she lives. For Sofia Curone, life is a continuous race between Bocconi, where she is enrolled in her third year of the Bachelor of Science in Economics and Management for Arts, Culture and Communication, and the Pavia Conservatory, where she studies classical saxophone. "I try to attend all my lectures at both institutions," says Sofia. She is one of the seven students awarded at the first edition of the Dean's Award, an initiative promoted by the Undergraduate School for students who manage to combine an outstanding university career with high-level extracurriculars.

"And I have to keep in mind that attendance is required for all my lectures at the Conservatory and most lectures at Bocconi." To not miss out on anything, Sofia also plays at various events, some promoted by the Conservatory itself and others, as she specifies, that are "private." "I am currently in a band, a quartet, and a wind ensemble, and I might also have the opportunity to teach soon."

Her passion for the sax started by chance and then she started playing it more seriously. But it's unlikely to become Sofia's professional future: "If I had the vocation to become a professional musician it probably would have already emerged," she explains. "I think instead that, once university is finished, my future will be in the varied world of the nonprofit sector, in the musical and cultural fields. But the saxophone will never leave me."
