Two Students in Stockholm for Sustainable Mobility

FRANCESCO AND LUDOVICO, TWO BOCCONI STUDENTS, ARE REPRESENTING ITALY AT THE Y4PT HACKATHON. ALL AS PART OF AN INTERNATIONAL SUMMIT DEDICATED TO SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY

They will spend four days in Stockholm for the Y4PT Transport Hackathon, which brings together students and young graduates from around the world to develop strategies for solving major transport challenges. Ludovico Gandolfi (International Politics and Government) and Francesco Borri (International Economics and Management), are representing Italy after winning the Italian round held in Turin last November. The hackathon will take place before the UITP Global Public Tansport Summit (9-12 June), an international event dedicated to sustainable mobility, where the winning teams will be awarded on the first day.

In Turin, their winning idea was an app that would bring together all the different mobility-sharing solutions available in the area, which normally require different apps for making rentals. "Users can also publish the route when booking the vehicle, so that other users interested in the same route can share the vehicle. This allows them to not only save money, but also be more sustainable," explains Ludovico. "In a world where climate change and eco-sustainability are topical issues and where it is important to act, we are glad to give our small contribution, even if only by learning more about this issue.”
