CEMS Students Navigate the World of Analytics

80 STUDENTS FROM 24 UNIVERSITIES AT THE ANNUAL MARENOSTRUM FORUM HELD AT BOCCONI TO TALK ABOUT THE CHALLENGES OF A DATA DRIVEN WORLD

From the future of work to data security to disruptive innovations, the new generations have to face a series of new challenges created by an increasingly data-driven world. Such challenges were the topic of debate and analysis during the two days of the CEMS annual Marenostrum forum held in Bocconi this year and organized by the CEMS Club Bocconi.

The forum, ‘The World of Analytics – where to compete next’, was held at Bocconi on April 5 and 6, and saw the participation of 80 students from 24 universities of the CEMS network (Global Alliance in Management Education). The two intense days saw a series of workshops, panel discussions and skills seminars with the participation and practical insights of corporate partners such as ABB, McKinsey, Mastercard, Société Générale and Whirlpool. With the event rounded off with various networking opportunities and social activities.

“It was a lot of work to organize the whole event – but it proved a great team effort from the whole CEMS Club and in the end was a big satisfaction,” says Davide Maccarrone of the CEMS Club at Bocconi. “It was great that all these top companies agreed to come to talk to us and share their practical knowledge about the topic. And, in line with the CEMS spirit, the event also proved a great occasion to meet, and network with, students from all over the world.”

“I’m doing my thesis on AI and machine learning, and want to work in a tech company, so the topic of the forum was super interesting. It was great to hear directly from companies about their real experiences in the field of analytics,” says Ines Weise , studying the CEMS Master at WU University in Vienna. “And it was also a great networking occasion - meeting people from all over the world.”
