Bocconi 4th in Europe and 11th in the World in the QS World University Rankings

IN THE NEW 2018 QS RANKINGS BY SUBJECT BOCCONI RANKS 4TH IN EUROPE AND 11TH IN THE WORLD FOR SOCIAL SCIENCES AND MANAGEMENT

In the ranking for the broad subject area of Social Sciences & Management Bocconi University gains six positions and places 11th in the world and 4th in Europe (only behind LSE, Oxford and Cambridge) in the 2018 QS World University Rankings by Subject dedicated to the best universities in the world in 48 different individual subjects and 5 broad subject areas of study. In the rankings for individual subjects Bocconi gains 1 position in the Business & Management area and now ranks 10th in the world and 6th in Europe, moves up four slots in Accounting & Finance, occupying 29th place in the world and 6th in Europe, and confirms 16th place in the world and 4th in Europe for Economics & Econometrics.

For the ranking put together by QS, the international network dedicated to education and the professions, around 4,500 universities were assessed. The ranking was created by evaluating four parameters: academic reputation based on a survey of academics, reputation among employers (based on recruiter opinions), research citations per paper and the H-Index, which measures the number and impact of research publications.

“Human capital is at the heart of Bocconi’s program in these years," says the Rector, Gianmario Verona, “and the results of this ranking, in which three out of four parameters refer precisely to academic reputation and scientific publication, are proof of the value of the investment we are making. In the academic market,  more and more often we compete with universities such as Harvard and London School of Economics and Political Science for the best young researchers. Increasingly, professors choose Bocconi knowing that they can count on an ideal environment to continue their commitment as researchers and teachers".
