Awards and Financing Opportunities: Bocconi #StartupDay 2017 Takes off

The initiative, aimed at empowering youth entrepreneurship, brings together startups and investors and acknowledges the best new businesses

At its third edition, Bocconi #StartupDay opens up to new participants in the Marketplace which brings together startuppers and venture capitalists, business angels and private equity investors. The initiative also continues to award startups that have achieved important results, though still in an initial stage of their lifecycle.

#StartupDay Marketplace is open not only to Bocconians (students or alumni from Bocconi University, SDA Bocconi School of Management and MISB Bocconi, startups hosted by the Speed MI Up incubators or participating in ICRIOS' Startup Training) who want to develop a business idea or are launching a startup, but also to teams that passed phase 1 of a CPHack or CPHack Idea at Campus Party Italia 2017.

Candidates have time until 8 September to apply for the #Startupday marketplace via the www.startupday.unibocconi.it website. Participants will be selected by 2 October 2017 by a jury that will take into account the experience and skills of the startup team as well as the innovation, feasibility and scalability of the idea. In the process of approaching the #Startupday of 21 November, 2017, the selected groups will be able to attend a training program that includes: webinars and seminars held by Bocconi professors, venture capital experts, practitioners, entrepreneurs and managers; an online video on the business plan by the Speed ​​MI Up incubator; the MOOC on Private Equity and Venture Capital by Bocconi University.

Startups wanting to run for the #StartupDay Award have some more time, until 29 September, and don't need any tie to Bocconi The Award is an acknowledgment to established startups, which awards successful business ideas and the ability to create innovative businesses, while being also an opportunity to develop and strengthen the management team's skills profile. There will be an award for the best startup and two special prizes to the best start-up on social innovation and to the best millennial start-up (i.e. selected among start-up teams under 30 years of age). The start-up winning the Best Start-Up Award will have the opportunity for one of its partners or one of its management team members to participate in one of the SDA Bocconi Executive Masters. The Best start-up on social innovation and the Best millennial start-up will have the opportunity to participate in SDA Bocconi "Open" Programs up to a value of 15,000 Euros.
