SDA Bocconi Among QS Elite Business Schools

, by Tomaso Eridani
The quality of research and the value of MBA graduates, the two elements considered by QS, places the School in the elite group in Europe

2017 begins with a new acknowledgement for the quality of teaching and research at the SDA Bocconi School of Management, which placed in the group of 16 elite business schools in Europe in the 2017 Global 250 Business Schools Report published by QS.

The report by QS, an international provider of specialist higher education and career information, takes into consideration the schools offering the top 250 full-time MBA programs around the world. The ranking on research excellence – where SDA places 5th place in Europe – is based on the opinion of 8,376 academics, experts in business and management, and an analysis of faculty citations per paper whilst the ranking on employability – where SDA places 14th in Europe – is based instead on a survey among 12,125 recruiters who were asked their preferred schools from which to recruit MBAs.

"The quality of teaching is closely linked to the quality of the research carried out by the faculty," says Giuseppe Soda, Dean of SDA Bocconi. "That's why the result obtained in this ranking rewards us twice. The robustness and relevance of our research activities reinforce our scientific reputation and render our programs closer to the needs of employers."

"This acknowledgement from recruiters and our alumni is also reflected in the figures of the latest Career Report, which highlights how our MBA produces graduates with an international outlook who can benefit from the excellent relations the School enjoys with companies," comments Stefano Gatti, full-time MBA Director. "86% of graduates seeking employment found a job three months after graduation and 55% transferred to a different country. The average salary increase post-MBA is nearly 150% and nearly two-thirds of graduates found new job opportunities through the School's career service."
