Fitness, Eastern Languages or Photography? January Is the Key Month for Classes through Bocconi's Campus Life

, by Ilaria Ricotti
Applications are open for classes and activities on campus during spring semester

Everybody knows that the learning offer at Università Bocconi is diversified and wide-ranging. But there is more than the traditional study process: apart from the usual academic classes, the university also offers the possibility of doing some extra activities. This offer, organized by Campus Life, satisfies every taste and will allow students (and in some cases, also Bocconi staff) to discharge the negative stress of university life and to cultivate a specific passion.
The first applications opened on 8 January for the "Language and Culture" area, which will provide students with the basics of a language. The choice is among Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Russian and Portuguese.
The applications to improve IT skills have also already opened. There are various learning options, covering the most requested areas of digital expertise, such as the use of Microsoft Office, the development of apps for Android, the functioning of Matlab.
Starting on 12 January, it is possible to enroll in the courses with "Sapere a tutto campo": 120 spots are available for each interdisciplinary course (a total of six for this semester, all held at Bocconi, plus some courses on International Relations from the agreement with the Winter School organized by ISPI), among which we can find focuses on architecture, fashion, film, literature and cognitive science.
If, instead, you want to take full advantage of the educational and learning possibilities offered by Bocconi, in February and March the library organizes specific courses for bibliographic research and database research.
There are also lots of options for artistic souls. Theater and photography are some of the passions and artistic activities that can be followed in parallel to university life and work.
Mens sana in corpore sano: as Juvenal taught us, not only intellectual activity helps people to lead a balanced life. "Mind-body and leisure" has the purpose to provide the means for a good balance between intellectual and leisure activities. Courses offered include: hara yoga, body language, self-defense and first aid. On the other hand, in the section Self-Empowerment students can find useful courses to understand how to better manage their time or how to improve their public speaking.
January (and in some cases, February) is the right month to finalize enrollment. Registration can be completed through the personal agenda You@B, or by sending an email to the contacts provided by the links above. The majority of activities will start in February. Bocconi students can enroll in all the listed activities, while "Mind-body and leisure" and "Artistic activities" are open to all employees.
