Universiday: Barenboim Meets Milan's Students

The director presents his Fidelio on Tuesday at Universita' Cattolica

In the first of the Universiday talks, Daniel Barenboim, on Tuesday, 25 November at Università Cattolica, will present the production of Fidelio directed by himself, which will open the Scala season on 7 December. The director will discuss with the music critic Enrico Girardi and the Cattolica professor Paola Fandella.
Launched on 17 October with an event for international students, Universiday is an initiative promoted by Corriere della Sera with the MiWorld association and Milan's Chamber of Commerce, Municipality and universities. Under the Universiday umbrella a series of events will unfold for six months, until April 2015, with talks – a series of scientific and cultural events – and contests that will test students' abilities in writing, music, photography, videomaking, urban art.
