Write #Mine, Read Life Long Learning
The Bocconi Alumni Community is a large family that today also welcomes all participants of the SDA Bocconi training programs. It is #Mine, a community that has free participation and no deadline, to respond to that sense of belonging that is born on the benches of via Bocconi, even among those at the School who turned to one of the many open or custom courses and not just for training longer and more structured than that of a master post experience.
"We have created #Mine, because we wanted participants in training courses to be able to maintain an all-round relationship with Bocconi's business school and encourage contact and the possibility of networking between them", explains Gabriele Troilo, Associate Dean of SDA Bocconi School of Management for the Open market and New Business Division. "Moreover, and this is a very important point in today's higher education system, a community favors lifetime learning: in a changing world, the dissemination of knowledge is not only about classroom training, but takes the form of different methods and occasions over the course of one's life".
The idea, therefore, is to create an ecosystem that can aggregate and convey content. Therefore #Mine has launched a series of thematic workshops throughout the year (once a week at the Egea Bocconi bookstore, open to all Bocconi alumni) where it is possible to participate both physically and in streaming. On average, between 50 and 70 people connected to each event (here is the calendar of events already scheduled in the fall). Many and different topics were addressed in the various meetings, including niche issues, given the objective of long life learning: among the most appreciated, those linked to human resource issues, people management, career development and digital transformation. "The value of these meetings", Stefania Bistoni, an attendee of the Executive Master in Business Administration "is that they allow you to delve into issues, that if you lose touch with graduate education, you tend to lose sight of". Stefania, an international business manager at Vodafone Italia, took part in a couple of events: «This is a refresh, a continuous learning opportunity, also because in your professional activity you are very focused on the here and now and you tend to lose the wider perspective».
Alberto Zummo, also an attendee of the Executive Master agrees. He sits on the board of the listed Indian Prabhat Group Ltd which has subsidiaries in Mumbai, Hong Kong and Dubai and has followed at least six #Mine meetings: "Continuous learning and networking opportunities are among the great advantages of #Mine", the alumnus explains. "The fact of having the opportunity to participate in a large community is always positive: in the complexity of today's multifaceted world, individual skills and resources are not enough, but you need exchange and sharing of multiple competences".
In addition to the seminars, there will be a second step in the evolution of the #Mine community: "In October the release of SDA Bocconi Insight will take place, a free platform dedicated to the dissemination of the knowledge produced by the School, a part of which will be dedicated exclusively to members of the #Mine community", Troilo concludes.
