Mariantonietta: Fourth Time in the Relay to Support Students

A GRADUATE OF EMBA IN 2017, BRUNENGO HAS RUN IN ALL THE MILANO MARATHONS SINCE 2016 TO SUPPORT THE SCHOLARSHIP PROJECT IN MEMORY OF FABRIZIO COSI. SHE EXPLAINED THE AIMS OF THE PROJECT ONSTAGE AT THE UNIVERSITY'S RECENT DONOR EVENT

Mariantonietta has always used running as an antistress activity. But when she attended the Executive MBA, she discovered another idea: a great means of getting people together to reach goals that go beyond sport. Together with a number of colleagues, she involved many members of the Bocconi community to run for a good cause (the University students) in the Milan Marathon of the last few years, becoming herself a University donor. The alumna talked about this experience on the stage of the last Donor event at Bocconi, underlining how "all together, we can make the difference".

"I do a job where the challenges are always different and always tiring, and I needed to run to break up the daily fatigue," says Mariantonietta Brunengo, a graduate of EMBA in 2017. Today she is a key account manager of a small company in the medical-hospital sector, always traveling between Piedmont, Liguria and Lombardy.

“Then I started the Master program and everything changed: we had to build on the experience of the fundraising project started by Fabrizio Cosi and, as new president of the SDA Bocconi running club, I became more and more passionate about this aspect of sports".

The idea was, and still is, to bring the community together in relay teams that run the Milan Marathon to raise scholarship funds for deserving Bocconi students. “Combining my pastime with such an ambitious project made me my small role feel very important, "says Mariantonietta, who will run her fourth Milan Marathon on 7 April for this purpose. "I have always had to work to be able to study," continues the alumna, "although I found people who helped me. I want to keep nurturing this project and continue to be part of it. I am proud that Bocconi generates these initiatives that demonstrate openness and investment towards the new generations ”.

Along with her feelings and reflections, Mariantonietta also transmits another thing, the same that she communicated to the listeners at the Donor event: "A great sense of gratitude to those who participated in both running and by supporting with their contributions".
