Bocconi and HEC Join Forces at Intersection of Data Science and Social Sciences

The new bachelor double program in Data, Society and Organisations will be presented in a webinar on November 9

With data and AI revolutionizing the furthest reaches of society, business and government policy, an inter-disciplinary training in data and social sciences is crucial today for understanding and supporting these societal and organizational transformations. With this in mind, Bocconi University is launching the Data, Society and Organisations track, a double program in the BSc in International Politics and Government, offered in collaboration with HEC Paris.

This new program, which will kick off in academic year 2024/25, uniquely merges social science critical thinking with problem solving and data analytical skills, featuring in-depth training in quantitative methods and data science. for students who want to work at the intersection of data science and social sciences and provide effective solutions to the main challenges of society and business. The course is delivered over three years, with the opening three semesters at Bocconi in Milan and the following three at HEC in Paris.

The new double program will be presented in a webinar to prospective students on November 9 at 5pm CET, including all aspects related to applications and admissions.

At the end of the program, students will be awarded the Bachelor of Science in International Politics & Government from Bocconi University and the Bachelor of Arts in Data, Society & Organisations from HEC.

"In order to steer policies and implement solutions that respond to the great challenges of our time, it is essential to hybridize the approaches typical of the social sciences and those of the new data sciences. This is the goal of the innovative program that Bocconi and HEC are jointly launching," explains Francesco Billari, Rector of Bocconi University. "The value of this program for students is enhanced by the experience in two of the most dynamic and international European cities and on two university campuses at the forefront of research, teaching and campus life."

"This bachelor's degree, by bringing together two leading institutions in France and Italy, reflects HEC Paris' determination to make a wider contribution to consolidating the European project."
