Summer School, Mixed Format Sets Record for Enrollment

, by Davide Ripamonti
Both on campus and online, this year's edition totals over a thousand participants in the four different programs

Summer is here and, with it, the rich portfolio of the Bocconi University Summer School returns right on time for its eighth edition. This year will include an important novelty, which combines tradition and innovation: it will be offered both on campus and online, offered in four diverse versions. All in all, unprecedented numbers have been recorded, with over 1,100 students enrolled (85% of them on campus), 80% foreigners, both considering citizenship and the school of origin, with 79 different citizenships. On-campus programs include lectures (mostly in the morning), seminars, group work and company visits, but also extracurricular activities, such as city tours and cooking classes.

The online programs, on the other hand, include lessons in our afternoon, to meet the needs of participants from the largest number of time zones (15 time zones involved), company testimonials and group work. Asynchronous activities are then offered, with a view to greater flexibility.

"The Bocconi summer school is now a successful initiative with strong international visibility," says Stefano Caselli, Dean for International Affairs at Bocconi University. "After two years in which the online mode developed with strong participation, we once again have on campus a thousand students from over 70 countries who want to use the summer space to face new challenges with a valuable experience outside their own country."
