AXA and Bocconi Students Design Tomorrow's Insurance

, by Fabio Todesco
The #AXAChallenge, launched yesterday, will see 100 Bocconi students compete in writing a business plan to improve the digital customer experience or bring new audiences closer to the insurance world

Digital customer experience and inclusive insurance are the topics of the 2019 edition of the #AXAChallenge, the competition of AXA Italia reserved for students attending the course in Technology and Innovation Strategy at the Master of Science in Economics and Management of Innovation and Technology. The course is held by Gianmario Verona, Bocconi Rector, who, after three years entirely dedicated to his position, returns this year to teaching, together with Luca Mignini, Chief Operating Officer of Campbell Soup Company, as visiting professor, and Alessio Delpero, PhD candidate in Management and Technology.

The competition was presented yesterday in the classroom by the CEO of AXA Italia, Patrick Cohen, who stressed the elements of innovation of his company and of the insurance industry, which, despite a somewhat dusty image, has actually become "the land of big data", with insurers transformed into tech companies able to use technologies in order to detect fraud or process claim documents.

The 100 students will be divided into ten teams, who will compete in writing a business plan aimed at improving the digital customer experience through the use of mobile devices or at attracting new segments of customers, such as young people, better responding to their needs. AXA managers will offer students strategic inspiration, case histories, tutoring and internships.
