, by Fabio Todesco
The Bocconi research centre calls the best scholars of the subject to an international conference on March 22 and 23

Exploring the knowledge frontiers of economics and management of innovation with the best scholars of the subject from all around the world. That is the goal of "New Frontiers in the Economics and Management of Innovation", the international conference organized by KITeS (Knowledge, Internationalization and Technology Studies) at Bocconi on March 22 and 23.

Topics of the conference will be the microeconomic foundations of innovation, such as the driving role played by human capital, demand and networks, and the implications in terms of intellectual property rights protection. Macroeconomic topics will be also discussed, such as the linkages between innovation and industrial dynamics or between innovation and growth.

"Academics who are reference points for the international community will analyze and discuss the scientifically hottest innovation topics", KITeS' director Franco Malerba says. "There will be a strong focus on innovation development in companies, networks and industries, with the exploration of the key role that customers and different human resources endowments can play in determining the performance of the innovation process".

Among the speakers, besides the KITeS affiliates, there will be leaders of the scholarly international community such as Bronwyn Hall (University of California, Berkeley), John Van Reenen (London School of Economics), Tim Bresnahan (Stanford University), Gautam Ahujia (Ross School of Business, University of Michigan) and Eric Von Hippel (MIT Sloan School of Management).
