Sources to better understand the conflict in Ukraine

THE BOCCONI LIBRARY HAS CREATED A SPECIFIC BIBLIOGRAPHY AVAILABLE TO STUDENTS AND FACULTY

Books, databases, cartography, useful links and much more to better understand the history and background of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. All collected by the Bocconi Library in a special bibliography, with scientific review by Professor Tamás Vonyó, and made available to students and faculty.

"With the outbreak of war, we thought about what our contribution could be and decided to collect and make available a number of informative and quality sources with scientific review by a faculty member," explains Cristina Silvani, Cataloging Coordinator of the Library. "On topics of the day it is important for students, and also faculty, to have solid and reliable sources."

The bibliography contains a range of indications on books and e-books, country reports, links to websites of institutions and organizations, journalistic sources, and even a maps section.

 "The region in which the conflict is taking place is somewhat outside the mainstream of history and social sciences and it is therefore important to pull together the available specialized sources. Including the work of expert scholars, such as those at Harvard's Ukrainian Research Institute," explains Tamás Vonyó, professor of economic history at Bocconi. "The aim is to meet the growing interest of students and faculty in the history, politics and geopolitics of Ukraine and the surrounding region. And the desire is to constantly develop and update this bibliography with new sources."

"This bibliography is part of a new series of specific guides we have created that includes one on the theme of alias and one on sustainability," Silvani illustrates.
