Paola Scapoli, a Wealth of Experience to Become CEO

THE ENTREPRENEUR RECOUNTS HER PERSONAL TURNING POINT AFTER ENTERING THE FAMILY BUSINESS, WHEN SHE TURNED TO SDA BOCCONI TO ACQUIRE THE SKILLS NECESSARY TO GET TO THE HELM OF BIOCHIMICA SPA

A degree in languages, interests ranging from fashion to public relations, then the call from the family business. Svolta tells the story of Paola Scapoli, now CEO of Biochimica spa. "I have always thrown myself into experiences; at the age of 14 I began to travel, which was my great passion.  Those experiences are important, and I still carry them with me." Among her many, there is the experience in the department of productive activities of a municipality in her area. And finally, entry into the family business. "My father called me at a special moment for the company," she says. " I found myself at a turning point in my life." The call was about leading the company and Paola Scapoli chose to acquire management skills that she did not yet have. "I did some initial courses and it was then that I approached SDA Bocconi, which I found highly beneficial and advantageous."

Here she also met Claudia Tamarowski, professor of corporate finance at SDA: "Paola's experience was certainly an added value because it led her to have open-mindedness, ability to get involved, willingness to change. If you combine these characteristics with talent, then building an ad hoc path becomes easier."

Today Paola Scapoli feels satisfied: "Today the company is in a good position both financially and commercially, which means that I did a good job as CEO."
