Startups Need Leaders Who Embrace Speed, Challenge, and Diversity

ELENA LAVEZZI, HEAD OF SOUTHERN EUROPE AT REVOLUT AND BOCCONI ALUMNA, MEETS RECTOR GIANMARIO VERONA IN THE LATEST EPISODE OF THE EXECUTIVE CHATS

“With Covid, the Finance sector has undergone a strong acceleration towards a cashless society. Habits have changed completely and people prefer contactless payments,” explains Elena Lavezzi, Head of Southern Europe at Revolut and alumna Bocconi, in a conversation in the Executive Chats series with Rector Gianmario Verona.

With regards to leadership, Lavezzi outlines that “the startup ecosystem moves at the speed of light and needs people who embrace speed and challenges”. And with remote work now so widespread “leaders need to understand the strengths of people in their teams and leverage them to help both employeees and the company grow.”

“Startups also need to leverage their flexibility so women can find the right work-life balance,” she argues. “We need all types of diversity to build and grow companies.”
