“The new normal offers much more - it will be more energetic and digital.” This is the outlook of Alberto Calcagno, CEO of Fastweb and Bocconi alumnus, highlighted in a conversation in the Executive Chats series with Rector Gianmario Verona. “With a digital leadership that entails a cultural change – moving to a new way where all employees can contribute more and have the freedom to be entrepreneurs,” he adds.

Looking at the secret of success, Calcagno says it is based on “growth. With three major ingredients: vision, setting long-term goals, the ability to execute these goals, and propensity to change, based on being flexible and curious.”

With regards to the startup scene in Europe, he thinks “Europe lacks ambition. It has the competences, the energy and young people with ideas but Europe needs to be free to think big.”
