Silvia Candiani Is the New President of the Alumni

THE ALUMNA AND CEO OF MICROSOFT ITALY SUCCEEDS RICCARDO MONTI AT THE HEAD OF THE BOCCONI ALUMNI COMMUNITY

The Bocconi Alumni Community has a new president: Silvia Candiani (Business Administration, Bocconi class of 1993), CEO of Microsoft Italy, succeeds Riccardo Monti (MBA, SDA Bocconi class of 1989), Managing Director & Senior Partner of BCG Milano and head of the alumni since April 2015.

Appointed by the University Board on the proposal of the committee composed of Andrea Sironi, Gianmario Verona and Riccardo Taranto (respectively Vice President, Rector and Managing Director of Bocconi), Silvia Candiani will lead a community of over 120,000 alumni, organized into 69 chapters around the world.

"The handover between Riccardo and Silvia comes at a historic moment, characterized by a global health emergency that has further strengthened the characteristics of our community: commitment, solidarity, ability to innovate," commented Gianmario Verona, Rector of Bocconi . “Riccardo has once again been able to guide our alumni with vision and passion and for this I want to thank him on behalf of all Bocconians. To Silvia, who today assumes the reins of an exciting challenge, I send my warmest welcome: together, University and alumni, we will build our future and that of the next generation with the aim of supporting the development of society through our common skills and values.”

"More than thirteen years working with – and for – the Bocconi Alumni have been a wonderful adventure that has enriched me personally and professionally," recalls Riccardo Monti. "I thank Bocconi University for its trust and give my heartfelt thanks to all the people with whom I have shared this unique path, full of ideas, innovations and satisfaction. A journey in which we have always followed the map of our common values; a journey that is sometimes unpredictable and, for this reason, unforgettable.”

"I am very proud to take the lead of the Bocconi Alumni Community, to represent thousands of graduates and professionals who over the years have had the opportunity to develop both personally and professionally at this University," said Silvia Candiani. “I thank my predecessor Riccardo Monti for the dedication he has shown in leading this community in recent years. I’m excited to take the torch to promote the further evolution and growth of this cohesive group of professionals who proudly carry Bocconi’s values all over the world. Important challenges await us, including those posed by the current situation, but I am sure we will be able to seize new opportunities by working together with passion, skills and unity to continue increasing our innovation and the impact of the Bocconi Alumni Community on society.
