Gianmario Verona's Team

CATHERINE DE VRIES JOINS THE TEAM OF THE RECTOR WHO WILL LEAD THE UNIVERSITY FOR THE THIRD CONSECUTIVE TERM. HER FELLOW DEANS ARE ALL RECONFIRMED. INNOVATION, DIVERSITY AND INCLUSIVENESS ARE THE PRIORITIES

More innovation, cultural and gender diversity, and inclusiveness: Gianmario Verona's third term as Rector of Bocconi focuses on these three aspects, with innovation (and digital transformation) seen as the driving force of the other two.

To lead the University for the next two years, putting into practice the new 2021-25 Strategic Plan that will lead up to Bocconi 2030, Verona has chosen to confirm his entire team. He is also bolstering it with a new Dean: Catherine De Vries, a political scientist teaching at Bocconi since February 2020, who will have the task of implementing policies for the promotion of diversity and inclusiveness.

With the entry of De Vries, the Rectoral Committee is now made up of 11 members including three women and three international professors. In addition, Giuseppe Soda, Dean of SDA Bocconi School of Management, was confirmed by the Board of Directors.

"The growing digitalization and the challenges of an increasingly global and interconnected society - as the Covid emergency underlines - require frontier research and teaching, and a more inclusive society that is attentive to promoting diversity,” said Rector Gianmario Verona. “Over the next two years Bocconi will be committed to innovating its teaching model with a strong hybridization of digital technologies.  We will also broaden our academic boundaries within the social sciences, with particular attention to cognitive sciences and the consolidation of the computer science area, aiming for a wider integration of knowledge to better understand society. Technology has proven itself,  precisely during the pandemic,  to be the best ally in accelerating the processes of internationalization and inclusiveness by  allowing us to reach anyone, anywhere ».
